What Is This Harness Connector At Gas Pedal?

I was vacuuming my car (88' GXL) the other day and found this unplugged connector located directly above the gas pedal. So I plugged it back in and didn't notice any difference while driving. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is and what it does?

The male connector was slightly discolored on its underside, as if it had burnt out or something. Let me know if I somehow screwed up linking the pictures. Any help would be appreciated, as I am new to Rx7s. Thanks.

Nevermind. It must have something to do with the low fuel sensor. I'm on the last leg of this tank of gas and every time I turn hard a buzzer assaults me for about a half a second, which is a new thing, never heard a peep from it before. No luck seeing which idiot light is on, my eyes being on the road, just a flash to my right. Thanks for all the help...

This means you have low OIL! Go top if up immediately.

The switch on the accelerator is for the Auto Adjusting Suspension system.

Thanks for the help, oil change was on my list for this weekend. Anyone know if there is a surefire way to tell if the auto adjusting suspension even still works? Should the ride be significantly different in sport from normal?:dunno:

I know I have a connector down there that when it's unplugged, it does the same thing as when the fuse is out for the fuel, so you can deflood. The car will start, then just die right after. So when it starts, I gotta plug it back in real quick, and it will stay on.

Thats what I was looking for when I found this one. Seeing as I have been driving around for about 2 months with it disconnected, I don't think that this is it. I am looking for a way to depressurize my fuel system without tearing apart my interior. The car is new to me and I am very slowly replacing/fixing things.

The relay up above the pedals is for the fuel pump, unlug it to turn engine off and you will depressurize your fuel system.

Make sure you top it off before this weekend... like... soon as you get to your car..

The oil buzzer is less of a warning and more of a "you are too low and should shut your engine off" buzzer.

You might not want to drive your car until you get oil in it.

The only reason I say this is because you sound pretty non-chelant about the changing of the oil... and I want to convey that you should get on it a lot faster.

Not being a dick, just trying to save you some money/headache. :)

I took care of it at lunch, I live like a 1 1/2 miles from work. Was 2 quarts low.

Good man.

Keep checking it just to be safe... You might be burning at a faster-than-normal rate.
