the rust formed overnight sitting in the shop, the flywheel was hotspotted to hell

Smoken' 08-01-05 07:33 PM

did you get a really bad burning smell when the clutch was enguaged?

Nice job! I had a Bork and Beck pressure plate set up wrong by the rebuilder once. I broke the pressure ring in 5 places. Should have taken a picture.

i was driving my ae86 and i was slammin' through gears and and one third to second clutch kick later there was no pedal left. i pulled the tranny away from the motor and dust just fell out, it looked as though the clutch just exploded. that is the worst i have ever done to a clutch and i bet it will be the worst for ever.

Friends clutchmaster dual friction pads decided to come off of his disc while coming over to my house...

scary because i have a dual friction clutch as well. it survived the track day a few weeks later though. i think i will be trying ACT next when this one goes. anyone else notice ACT doesn't make their own discs, but uses OEM replacement discs for their basic kits?
