What Generic/Aftermarket Wastegate Actuator Will Work On Our Cars?

Any other options as far as the wastegate actuator. Maybe a better universal one out there or one from another turbo car that will work?

I found these but has anyone ever tried or done it.

I had a turbonetics aftermarket wg actuator. Came with an adjustable rod for tensioning. I also spent some extra money on a universal adapter plate. Be careful with these aftermarket actuators and mounting plates as the actuator normally has a slightly different angle that the start actuator arm and also plate position will be key. If you do not set this up correctly the actuator may push the arm and may either jam it open or closed if you dont get it right. You can test this by forcing a little compress air into a vac line attached to the actuator several times and various pressures to make sure the arm will not jam. FWIW my turbonetics actuator had a bleed hole to vent excess pressure.

did it hold boost properly ?

I have a hybrid so i was going to use this.

it held boost fine, actually better boost control after i had it properly adjusted. those look pretty similar to what i got except my bracket was slotted to allow for many different positions and adjustments but nothing you cant fix with a dremel. one thing is though because of the adjustable length you can get the wg to open wider but normally this means reduced tension making the flapper door more likely to be pushed open prematurely and most likely rattle on decel. So setting it up properly is really key. I suppose you could use an additional spring like some other guys have done here to help keep the door shut while still getting travel of the arm.

Thanks for the info. If i could get it to hold 13 psi im happy.

Um...why?

Dude my wastegate was stuck closed and the car won't hold boost... it would spike to 15psi and then drop to 6 on a 4th gear pull near redline

it won't hold boost because it won't flow enough air. worry about wastegate actuators when you upgrade your turbo (and usually it's only an issue on big single turbos with external wastegates).

100 bucks is a lot of money to put into a stock turbo.
