I saw them in guitarjunkie28's thread about his stolen FC (did they ever find those guys). Well i figured rather than bother a guys whos life is kinda fucked right now ill just posta pic here. They have silver guages in the day. i thought they were corksport but they dont look as bright/nice on corksport.com If anyone knows what they are i woudl appreciate knowing.

SonicRaT 12-30-04 01:34 AM

Looks like your typical silver/white face ebay set.

RotaryEvolution 12-30-04 02:01 AM

reverse glow guages, they use no bulbs. i have them in my car, not all that easy to install after getting the guages calibrated properly(you need to remove the needles to install the faces).

i could guide you through the steps to install or i would suggest having someone who know how to work with instrument clusters do it.

i like the looks of them, you can remove the stage light as well for a more distinct look without the white light you see from the bottom, though the needles are less pronounced without it.

believe it or not, these guages are easier on my eyes because your eyes don't need to adjust as much from the road (other people's lights) to the red stock display. i plan on trying to find a whole set of additional guages to go with the cluster scheme.

the're gay, dont get them, they totally blind the shit out of u when ur driving, stick with gauges that glow orange or red

Kenteth 12-30-04 02:16 AM

Full indiglo gauges blind you... reverse gauges are easier on the eyes.

I have several kits like this right here and they all say the slide over with no removal of the needles.

BlaCkPlaGUE 12-30-04 03:05 AM

how much for the kit?

BklynRX7 12-30-04 03:12 AM

I have 2 for s5's ill sell to anyone for $20 shipped. Theyre the green/blue indiglo adjustable type.

1SxyRXy 12-30-04 03:41 AM

i still think reverse are to bright IMO, and i think the're to ricey but thats my 2 cent

RoTa7 12-30-04 04:19 AM

rice

BklynRX7 12-30-04 08:57 AM

Its not rice its just modernizing our 80's cars. Rice would be tapeing those little led things all over the dash.

gerbraldy 12-30-04 10:09 AM

hey, my buddy is about to pick an s4 na up with those already in the dash cluster, he hates them as much as I do so he was gonna sell them on here with those white gauges already installed. It's a real sob to get all the gauges working, and they all work 100% acurate in his car. THe stock gauges are the best you can buy in my opinion, maybe a $2000 all digital might look as cool. you have to remove the needles, thats probaganda so you buy them thinking it's easier to put on

Kenteth 12-30-04 10:30 AM

lol... and TRUST ME, stock gauges are *FAR* from 100% accurate. Thats just a joke.

Modified 7 12-30-04 10:49 AM

i bought my reverse indiglows and put them in yesterday, i did not have to remove the needles :)

ra ra rotory 12-30-04 12:36 PM

Mazda did a bad ass job with the stock guage setup, Im not touchin it..

And yeah, those things are way to bright at night..

s4 you have to remove the needles on the oilpressure volt gas water temp side but the tach and speedo are just screws.

these were the most pain in the ass thing i have ever done to the car. it looks nice but it is not worth it in my opinion. the ones corksport sell are the same ones you get on ebay for half the price.

Modified 7 12-30-04 01:50 PM

well on my s4 i did not remove the needles, i just slipped on the gauges

coldfire 12-30-04 04:29 PM

i especially like my S5 gauges because they are in metric units :p:
that's what i get for living in Canada :)

i haven't found any aftermarket S5 NA gauges in metric...

Mine are.....
and they didn't just slip onto the old ones, I had to take the needles out and take out the screws as well.
And NOOOOO....I don't think they are ricey ....and if it's too bright there's always a dimmer..... ;)

ok am i correct in understanding that you think the EBay gauges are the same ones Corksport sells?
the EBay ones may be 1/2 the price of the Corksport ones but the Corksport ones are the nicest set i have seen and i think they are well worth the money
more expesive than most but you pay for quality and if you live near Corksport and pick the gauges up at thier shop for an extra $20 bucks they will install them for you profesionally :bigthumb:
that's a pretty good deal i think
after i complete my motor swap i am gonna pick some up

http://www.corksport.com/main.php3?p...3Fcat%3D214913

that is the link for the Corksport gauges pics if anyone is interested in them
they are about 1/2 way done the page
they only show S5 N/A Turbo clusters but the S4 clusters look the same
enjoy :D

RotaryEvolution 12-30-04 09:02 PM

you can adjust the brightness..

the set i got did not have slits in it to slide them over the needles.

there's a big hole in the center. it needs no slit, the piece is flexable and can be bent so there is no need to remove the needles.
