I think the best idea for that thing is to just leave it alone. Its sealed from the factory for a reason, its just like the AFM, you don't mess with its setting becuase its sealed.
I've been told that is ONLY for idle, and anything past that, it does nothing.

cool,

Umm.. It affects idle only, but it sounds like yours was tampered with if the gorilla snot has been dug out of the hole.

yes,there was nothing over it

BlackPlague Is right.. It only affect idle. It's a Idle Mixture Control, it adjusts how rich/lean your car idles. If all of the junk has been removed, then just adjust it to the leanest setting where it sounds happy. It should be somewhere around the center. In all actuality, I never noticed much of a difference until you got to either extreme, but play with it. After you get it happy, don't touch it, 'cause it won't get you any performance as soon as you hit the gas.

You guys are way off. It's electronic steering alignment adjustment; L for left, R for right... :D

J/K

It only affects idle mixtures, and should be checked and set as per the instructions in the FSM (4A-77 for NA, 4B-80 for Turbo).

how do you get all the sealant out of it? Is there a metal screw under there or is it plastic? I'd like to try to adjust mine to see if it helps my low idle. I've checked TPS, swapped BAC and still have an idle a little lower than I'd like even after adjusting the idle screw up top.
