What do you guys think of this roll bar?
 

The main hoop looks OK but I would prefer to have a cross bar. The rear bars would be better if they mounted to the rear strut towers of the car as opposed to the floor of the trunk. I guess it really depends on your race class and what is legal.

I assume that you are drag racing and only need a minimal cage. This is an SCCA 6-point cage with the features that I mentioned above:

that cage looks effective, im just shooting for something that will help prevent the roof from collapsing incase of roll over

You have to be trying pretty darn hard to get your car to roll over. If you aren't racing (and don't really "need" one) I'd stay away from a roll bar. It's a bunch of extra weight for something that as Evil Aviator said, doesn't connect to the rear strut towers. Not to mention then you have displaced interior etc. But if it gives you the warm and fuzzy, don't let anybody else tell you how to spend your money. Do what makes you happy.

I used the jegster kit, you still have to assemble and weld everything together, I bought the 6point kit just ended up not using the door bars.

and as far as attachment, it will attach wherever you want it to attach, mine is attached to the strut towers, not the floor.

Also, from the looks of that one compared to mine, it doesn't look like you will be able to slide your seat all the way back, so hopefully you are under 6'....

@cloudzero how hard was the installation?

Installation was really pretty easy, a tubing notcher is really nice to have for it, or you can use a grinder to fit your support bars together. I set it up in the car, tack welded it together, took it out and welded everything. Then took it down and had it powder coated before I installed it in the car. I did however weld it fully to the car instead of just bolting it in. i think it took my dad and I about 3 hours from start to finish. the hardest part was getting all the interior out of the car to weld it in.

I can tack weld it I would like to have it professionally welded for the final finish though, so if I tack weld it I can pull it out and it will fit back in?

Yes, its a tight fit in and out but with two people you can do that.

what about the seat? can you still go all the way back?

I'm 6'1" and I have no problems. The seat will go all the way back, lay down as far as you want to. the only problem i had was i put the cross bar a little low and when i open my rear storage bins they hit the bar. I can still get into them just cant lift the lids all the way open.
I would highly recommend some of the rollbar padding from jegs, or at least a pool noodle to put around the bar where your head will be close.
