What do make of this housing?

30k on engine. Car made 450 at the wheels and has been running for 10 years. I broke a rear iron and had to pull the engine to replace. Was still running perfect, but leaking oil. Compression check was perfect before engine was pulled. OEM Mazda seals. The rear rotor housing looks brand new. This front however has some weird marks in it. The thing is, it is perfectly smooth. If I close my eyes and run my finger on the housing, you could mistake it for brand new. Take the Pepsi challenge between both, and you could never tell. Cannot nail any grooves, just looks a little strange.

Car did not detonate, all apex seals are still intact and perfectly straight.

they seem to look fine in the picture to me? as the chrome wears the cloudy surfaces can become uneven( more shiney the more worn it is in that spot).

looks to have some carbon building up near the spark plug holes( common as the heat there causes the housing to flex) id just clean all the areas up around the plugs with a degreaser/cleaner and scotch bright pad( or something that wont scratch metal)

That housing looks pretty good to me.

Looks fairly normal to me. The scratching around the spark plug holes is typical. Polish them up with a Scotch Brite pad a bit.

Thanks guys. Going to hit them with some mild scotch brite and bolt her back together.
