what do i have??

i have a 1986 RX-7
it has 5-lug wheels. 4 piston calipers. 5-speed trans, manual windows, non power locks, non power mirrors, no power steering, aluminum hood, no sun roof. dealer installed a c (i think) and no automatic adjusting suspension. i thought this was a weired combo of options. what do you think????

i love this car and have had it for about 3 years now i just wondered if it was anything special

SkyWalker 03-12-08 04:23 PM

a mutt. lol. .

86rx7fromohio 03-12-08 05:02 PM

well i knew that

Icemark 03-12-08 05:24 PM

No, you have a Sport.

The Specifications: What did the 2nd Generation RX-7 come w/. Options & standard features sticky thread(https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/specifications-what-did-2nd-generation-rx-7-come-w-options-standard-features-642372/) found at the top of this, the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section; has all the listing of what model came equipped with what, and should be referenced instead of asking on the forum so that you don't get dumb answers (such as already has happened in this thread).

All FC RX-7's have remote mirrors. They either came with Manual remote mirrors or Electric remote mirrors. There was not a FC made by the factory that you had to roll the window down, reach out and manually adjust the mirror at the mirror.

Sport Tuned suspension means you got the heavy duty stabilizer bars, and vented 4 piston front brakes with vented rear brake rotors

86rx7fromohio 03-12-08 05:59 PM

i understand now i was thinking remote as being the control in the center
i do have a ??? about something else though i looked at me cars history it was built oct 14 1985 and was not titled until sometime in 1990 when it was titles it had 100-some thousand miles on it how did it get these miles is there a chance it was a race car at one time

Probably sold in another state first, back around December 1985 or January of 1986. Then whoever owned it moved and registered it in Oh, so that shows up as the first title in that state.

86rx7fromohio 03-12-08 06:13 PM

ok i was hoping for A cool history

Saavedro88 03-13-08 12:28 AM

You could always get a carfax... I know a guy who has an account and could do it for you for free if you wanted... It would clear up the whole state thing or whatever else it is...

DavidHolmesIII 03-13-08 02:42 AM

Second the Carfax idea. Carfax Good.

Icemark 03-13-08 12:00 PM

Carfax doesn't always have stuff from the 80's and before, so it might not tell him anything other than the car was sold.

DavidHolmesIII 03-13-08 12:32 PM

I should show you mine...:) yeah...Older cars = less info, but it will tell you where its been. I had rust, come to find out it spent a year in Minnesota ... No vaulable information, but more than I had before. I dont regret it

And as far as accidents go, they only show what was "reported".

marshall13B 03-13-08 12:36 PM

i wanna carfax report...

DavidHolmesIII 03-13-08 12:46 PM

If you know anyone who works at a Dealership you can probably get one for free by asking.

rx7fan1903 03-13-08 01:14 PM

I'm pretty sure that that's an SE model...

Any post that starts with "I think", "It might be", "I'm pretty sure", or the like should probably be re-thought altogether...

you need to learn how to read the thread in detail before you post.

johnmasters 03-13-08 02:59 PM

Keep in mind that the carfax includes only items that were "REPORTED" to the insurance company. It DOES NOT matter if the item was "REPORTED" to the police. My S5 was stolen, reported and recovered but I did NOT have comprehensive so NO claim was filed. This item is not nor will be on my carfax. So, if I sell you my car, you wont know it had been stolen unless I tell you. CarFax IS GOOD but it doesnt tell you everything.

Dude!

The question was answered correctly on the 4th post down.

and

The SE was never available in 1986.

and

The SE (only available in 1988) only came with 4 lug wheels- yet the thread originator tell us 5 lug with the 4 piston brakes... (which the SE never came with).

Did you not read this post:
The Specifications: What did the 2nd Generation RX-7 come w/. Options & standard features sticky thread(https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=642372) found at the top of this, the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section; has all the listing of what model came equipped with what,

Were you high when you posted your reply, or did you just ignore every post in the thread and only answered the title?

Thread closed. This has been answered correctly above, and since there still are people posting replies, this thread is done.
