Looks like it's in the water pump housing.
Gotta be the temp sensor, mang. Check the FSM to be 100% sure. :bigthumb: James |
Water Thermo Sensor. It is what tells the ECU the water temps.

since that broke can i get a aftermarket one and put the sensor for the aftermarket one there? also my temp gauge still works i just put it back like how it suppose to and havn't moved outta place since. just not sure if its accurate or not.

It's not for the temp gauge, it's for the ECU as already mentioned. It's important and needs to be replaced so the ECU gets a temp reading.

would you know the exact part name/number? so i can get one from mazda, thanks

Basic forum rule: If you want help, tell us what car you have. "RX-7" isn't enough! Your car's year and model should be in your profile and sig, and in your post any time you ask for help.
Lucky for you I can see for the pics you have an S4 NA. The thermosensor part number is 8574-18-840. |
yup i do 88 gtu, i normally always put the year/trim at the end of my first post but i forgot on this one. but the pic is a dead give away
thanks |
