I don't think they are ECU's, maybe body computers...

ROTA_MOTION 06-27-04 04:07 PM

they are 100% engine ecu's

n340 is the s4.5 ecu, its an s4 with the electric metering pump or an s5 with the mechanical pump, i forget which

Icemark 06-27-04 11:34 PM

Here are a couple more from our friend Ted:

87.5- 88 N327
'88 All, except convertible N327
'88 Convertible N338
'89+ California N350
'89+ Federal (non-California) N351
'89+ California, Convertible N352
'89+ Federal (non-California), Convertible N353

Turbo ECU's
Year/Model Part number
'86 Turbo (Japan) N318
'87 Turbo (USA) N332
'88 Turbo (USA) N333
'88 Turbo, Japan/Euro N344
'89 Turbo N370
'89 Turbo, Japan/Euro N380

ROTA_MOTION 06-28-04 01:57 AM

STILL NO N340

Icemark 06-28-04 09:18 AM

N340 is the Turbo in Japan

j9fd3s 06-28-04 10:17 AM

n319 is the 87 jdm ecu

stacher 07-15-04 12:44 PM

While in the topic of ECU's, What is the difference between a N370 and N374?

xaymaca 11-18-04 10:40 PM

I'm in the same boat... Only mine's a N341!!! I've got a '87 Turbo Convertible from Japan I believe. Looks to be an S4...

N318 ECU's are plentiful in Australia so possibly just a standard Aus Spec S4 Turbo Coupe? There were a couple of different things with Aus spec models... Can't remember them though!

RETed 11-18-04 11:30 PM

S4 or S5, you need to just worry about the first two numbers...

N340 would swap with an N341 and an N344 - all N34x
N318 would swap with an N319 - all N31x

FC3S.USD 11-18-04 11:47 PM

318 mostly came with the low impedence rx7s early S4,

Fuel injector impedence doesn't bother the ECU.
The resistor pack is all upstream of that.

Okey sorry I ment by saying low impedence. That it was the early T2's

hence being low impedence. But your right the impedence doesnt go into account in the ecu.

RHDturboII 11-19-04 08:31 AM

Mine is N380

RETed 11-19-04 08:36 AM

http://fc3spro.com/TECH/FAQ/ecutype.html

N380 = 1989 FC3S turbo, Euro / Japan

So, ReTed......I've been holding out for a N333 for a 88 10AE TII and could have used a N332 according to your "first two numbers" post. Missed some good deals because I didn't have this info and didn't know enough to ask. Is there anything else that I need to know if I use a N332 instead of a N333? I putting a Rtek 1.7 chip in the "new" ECU and then swap into the Rex. Thanks. :p:

I believe the first Cabriolet model was officially released in 1988?
I used to have a chart, but that got lost. :(
Anyone with a HyperRev or RX-7 Magazine for the model chart in the back?

I don't think the FC3S was sold new in Aussie?
I think they are all Japan imports?
Therefore, all those models and ECU's are all Japan-spec units...

Yes, an N332 or even an N338 from a 1988 vert would've worked.

I think the N332 ROM versus the N333 ROM is different - try contact the RTEK guys for confirmation.
I know we were having problems swapping modded EPROMs from N333 to N332 - it just didn't work - years ago. :(
