If you want noise, just get the TurboXS type RFL.
I use the Greddy Type S, its loud, but that wasnt why I bought it.. |
i like my apex'i twin chamber........ pretty loud, but its not the bird chirp bov.... its more of a deep sound.....sounds mean!!!:)

On a related topic, what is the most quiet aftermarket BOV?

Anything that vents back into the intake should be quieter. |
Greddy TypeR or TypeS because you can easily plumb them back into the intake. silence is beautiful.

ok...never post here again My tII rebuild is almost complete...it's going to have an apexi twin chamber (which I have not heard yet) but i"ll let you know how it sounds |
The RFL is almost too loud. It gets annoying after a while. I've also heard of people having a lot of problems with it because its crudely made. My friend had one on his WRX and he got rid of it. I just got a Blitz Dual Drive and it sounds great. Really Low for low boost and just right for high boost. I'm still running stock boost so I can imagine it being a lot louder with 12 pounds thru it. Its not chirpy like a bird. Its a whoosh or a hiss, Like the snake coming to eat the bird. ;)

they should like have a way to here it before you buy it
But if i was goning to get one it would have to chirp alil and be a little loud donno what kind that is though |
The question should be, what BOV will do the task of dumping my exess*sp* air the best.
Not, what BOV makes the loudest sound possible. Remember, 90% buys a BOV because they want the *cool* sound, 10% buys it cause they think they need it. |
BOV's are turning into rice. That's mostly from what i've seen locally, everyone only gets them for the sound.
Personnally i run a Tial 50mm BOV.. -Justin |

i think one of the best would be a hks ssqv sounds loud and nice not to chirpy to but in my opinion its overpriced
|
the best sounding BOV is the one you can't hear, i can't even believe this is a thread, i thought rx7 owners cared about more important things than how a BOV sounds, function over form.

YO!
#1. Some of us dont feel like replumbing the valve back into the system, its a pain in the ass, and since I am Haltech, there is NO advantage to doing it. #2. I got the Greddy Type S because it can effectively dump the over 17 PSI of boost I run. All the N/A people, dont start drinking the HaterAide because your car doesnt go SWOOSH.. |
I'm not hating, and my car will go SWOOSH in time... unless I can get a good quiet BOV.
|
I wasnt referring to you.
|
i think the apexi twin chamber can b set to the sound of a pepsi can being opend .... for me that would be quite enough, i would still like to have a bov, just not a FnF kinda shit
|
I like the new Greddy Type RS. I have one on my centrifugally supercharged FC.
|
I like the sound of a nice bov but I'm not going out of my way to get one (ex. spending 150+ dollars) just for that. I have an old school greddy that is plumbed back into the system so it's really quite. I may just see how loud it is when I unplumb it though just to see. Anyways to add my 2 cents I used to have a greddy type s and that thing was pretty loud.
