What is the actual problem w/88 vert?

I know its something about missing roof rails but I can't find any information about the specific problem they cured. Obviously it's water-related. I haven't driven mine in a downpour yet, and I want to be prepared for whatever it is.

You mean with the convertible roof?

There is no real "problem" for say, they just changed a few things for the series 5 versions.

They modified the drains on the side, just behind the doors (if you get the 88 factory rear section replacement it too will have the 89-92 style drain holes/hose) for better run off.

They also swapped the fabric wrap, so that the seam on the top section acts like a water channel.

Thanks. I haven't looked at a 89+ vert so I don't know what the physical difference is. Is it just something over the side windows so water doesnt dump on you when you get out?

thats the fabric wrap swapped so that the seam on the top section acts like a water channel.

Although I have driven my 88 (with the 88 style seam on the roof section) in the rain and didn't have the rain drip problem.
