I just bought a 1987 N/A and the person i got it from told me it was all stock but he took the motor out because he was going to do a V8 swap but ran out of funds. Anyways, when i was cleaning I noticed this switch under the steering wheel. I think it might be a fuel pump cut off switch but i looked in the manual and the switch is not in there. Is this stock, and if not does anyone have an idea of what it might be?

That isn't an OEM switch. It could be for anything, my greatest hopes are that it's for the machine guns behind the headlights. But it's probably something much more mundane. Maybe a valet switch for an aftermarket alarm?

There is an alarm sticker in the bottom left corner of the windshield, did 87's come with alarms?

Yes but the factory alarm does not have a switch, it arms itself when you push the lock button down from the inside. That switch is most likely fuel cut, or remnant from a previous owner having fog lights or something of that nature.
Flip it see what it does!

My car had a fuel cut switch in that exact spot, and that same style of switch...

But yea, it's not OEM, it could be a lot of things, try flipping it and see.

I would flip it but theres no power to the car

Take the panel off and trace the wires. That switch is not stock so the best people can do right now is Guess.

Haha, I have a switch in the exact same position and there's an led next to it as well. I haven't yet taken the time to figure mine out as well but, I do know it ain't fuel cut cuz up or down car starts and idles fine.

Like Misterstyx69 said, it's all guessing till the owner traces the wires. I have two switches under my dash. One for valet switch for my aftermarket alarm, the other for a manual override switch for my electric fan. Before anyone says it, it's an override for the fan. The fan is setup with a thermoswitch.

So it turns out that it was an alarm, the wires ran through the harness to a box.....took out the box and it said Chapman Alarms
