for me this wasn't bad, i had full interrior and an extra person, and i own'd the almighty TYPE R.

my best run was 14.5 wasn't bad though, a b20-turbo integra ran exactly 14.5xx, meaning i didn't need to spend much to be fast.

60 ft time wasn't all that great but for bald tires at 22 PSI that was pretty damn good, first run was 25 PSI while all the other runs are ~22psi

overall it was a fun experince, i whoop all the heavily modded honda cars, in my stock turboII with a passenger, most of them are fully gutted, and i'm running full interrior and hardcore RICH!

marcus219 06-12-03 11:52 AM

You say the microtech is untuned? Meaning you just got the base map they provide and are running like that? Hows it run, idle, running prett rich?

I'm thinking of getting the microtech for my n/a - TII swap, it would make things alot easier, being I wouldnt need to pay to get the stock, crappy computer and engine wiring harness. Install, starting with the base map, all awesome? I hear good things, but they just dont have the name that the Haltech has layed down with RX-7's..but I like the Microtech...its affordable for me!

600HP CLUB 06-12-03 12:21 PM

yeah base map from group buy.

not so rich that it bogs or backfies, just i know it's richer than usual from the exhaust smell & adding a fiel pump raise the pressure of fuel just a little.

Infini IV 06-12-03 12:29 PM

Umm... DAYM 20+ psi on stock turbo?! Lets see the vids!

marcus219 06-12-03 12:37 PM

Umm..think you interprted that wrong..he said hes getting 8-9 in 4th gear...he said without exhaust it does 25 psi..but I cant imagine how unefficient the stock turbo is gonna be at 25 psi.

600HP CLUB 06-12-03 01:07 PM

yeah marcus219 is correct. i ran without a exhaust in the streets the boost came up quick and 20+ BUT i let go quickly and nothing was harm'd. as so i think?

Infini IV 06-12-03 01:23 PM

Hmm, but at the track you opened the exhaust?

600HP CLUB 06-12-03 01:45 PM

no i kept the exhaust on for safty reasons.

It still comes with a base map even if you don't go through the group buy though doesn't it? Anybody know how much it is to get a dyno tune session with a tuner? I'm sure they charge by the hour? What's it usually take to do it, like 1.5-2 hours? I'm in Washington, doesn't Corksport do dyno tuning?

-Marc

rx7raca 06-12-03 03:11 PM

it depends on the dyno owner, some places do it by runs or hours.

tuning could take all of 20mins or 1 hour, it depends on the car, usually for turbo car takes lil longer.

geoff

RX74Play 06-12-03 07:08 PM

no offense but those response times suck. not bad though for your fist time to the track. what rpm did you launch at?

600HP CLUB 06-12-03 10:55 PM

most of the time, i flux it between 3.5-4, then 5-6. just trying to find every different RPM, then one time i held it at 4 then punch it and drop the clutch at 3rd yellow, that's the one with .522 reaction time.

All Microtech ECUs come with a base map rough-tuned for your application.

We can't, however, condone what 600 HP CLUB is doing. ;) We maintain that the stock map is only good enough to get you driving without boost and low throttle to a tuner. Anything over that is all you.

as the great wise man said don't trip.

i'm those crazy people that really don't give a hootch. if it blows it blows, so far it didn't! now you guys can back your statement up with "600hp club raced his car with base map and ran a respectable 14.5 bla bla bla"

for me is, i feel confident that the base tunning is good because i drove this car like crazy at every point of every rpm of every load, everything just is FINE for me, nothing crazy appeared yet, plus i told rxeng to tune it for 14 PSI, while im stuck at 7-8 i think i'm in a very safe margin.

No7Yet 06-13-03 08:46 AM

Hey I think it's great that you're running such good times on the base map! More power to ya, man :) Just think how much better/faster it'll be once you get some tuning thrown at it! I'm just saying that we can't officially claim that the base map is good for doing such things, yadda yadda. Legal reasons, of course.

Anyway, congrats on a good time :)
