went back to stock fan, now idles high?

like the title says, I changed out my electric fan for my stock one because it just wasn't keeping cool enough. now it idles at about 1700 RPM  ??

that is the ONLY thing I changed, why would it do this? its on my 87' TII, so I can't really adjust it down... right?

Um, I don't think it's fan related my friend. Are you sure you didn't pull off a vacuum line or something somewhere?

yes

He must have had about an 80 amp fan to raise the idle THAT high.

Hence my original idea that it's not fan related.

Possibly a part happened to fail (TB related) at the same time you switched fans? Unrelated, just at the same time, if you know what I mean?

I had a fiero fan. ;)

what part could have happened to have failed at the same time? what should I check?

oh, I just remembered, my thermoswitch is still connected to my battery.... but the fan isn't connected to it, so it shouldn't matter, right?

oh wait! I just thought of something...

one of the brackets on the throttle cable (to mount it) broke a couple days ago, so it was just hanging down in the way of the fan. I saw this and decided to put it up out of the way, like above the sway bar... its probably got a few bends in it like that. damn, its probably just sticking inside the cover thing. I'll try that tomorrow and hopefully it will work.

great!! thanks for the help.
