weird wizzing noise comming from shifter/transmission??PLEASE HELP!!!!
yesterday i was driving on the freeway and i happen to get into a little race with a prelude....i downshifted from 5th to 4th smoothly and reved it til 6 or 7 then shifted into 5th and grinded a little.....(i passed him at about 105 or 110)
when i got off the freeway i started hearing a weird wizzing noise comming from the shifter or the transmission not sure....sounds a little like an exaust leak but the noise comes straight from the right side where the shifter is.....the shifter also feel very loose now and makes a "clink clink" sound when i shift left to right on neutral... can somebody please tell me wats the matter?? did i burn my tranny??? is it my syncros??? thanks everyone!!!! |
Could be something simple like a pilot bearing starting to crap out on you, or something a bit more sinister like a bent shifter fork or waxed synchro, who knows?
Does it make the noise in neutral, or in any particular gear or RPM range? |
uuummm....its doesnt make the noise on neutral...it usually makes the noise when i try to accelerate from any speed
thank for replying so quik wayne!!! |
