Weird sound coming from my front tires?
When Im at a stop and I start driving, I hear this low pitched, flute-like sound (best way I can describe it) coming from around my front tires. When I hear the sound I can feel it in my steering wheel. Kind of like a small vibration. After I hit like 15-20 mph the sound goes away. It doesnt always do that sound. This kind of freaked me out. I dont know what it is. Any ideas?

Does the sound change with speed? It could be warped rotors or bad wheel bearings. Then again, your brake pads might need changing.

I was once told that it is a harmonic created by the break pads rubbing against the rotors because the calipers are not opening all the way. Theres my 2 cents

It could be the dog you run over.:)

yeah, it could be that your brakes are sort of rubbing (hence the vibration in the steering wheel). anyway, you should take off the tires and see whats going on with your brake pads and brake calipers.

Could also be cheap tires.
