weight of the 13b...
 

I have recently been told that an N/A rx-7, bridge ported, is a faster track car than a turbo.... also because its lighter....
that brought me to a question...
how much does the 13b weigh? I cant seem to find the weight online... and how much does it weigh including the turbo system?

25 for the turbo
100 for the block

100 lbs for the block? no way.... and 25 lbs for a turbo system..... Im not sure if I belive you...... wow.....

<250 surely.&nbsp A turbo block comes in right under 300.

holy crap thats light.... and a big port probably takes off a good 10 lbs.... phew, another big advantage to the wonderful rotary :)

Your best bet might be to call one of the Jspec places, they have to know shipping weight, just subtract for the Turbo, intercooler, and palet.

I always figured around 250 as well.

It's pretty light... when i did my engine, my dad and I could lift it with our bare hands.... about 200 or so lbs...

Um, 10 lbs is a pretty big port job. :eek:

A 13B has to weigh more than that. I've read a 12A is over 200 pounds.

I just had a short block shipped to me. The bill said 200lbs. That was with the engine being straped to a wooden pallet. So if I was to guess at the weight I would say 180lbs for a short block.

i recently had a 13b shipped to me,,and its weight was 225lbs


this was a bare block to,,no mainolds no oil pan omp or anything

so i believe a fully equipt turbo engine would weigh in the 300 range and a fully equipt N/A would be close to 260
