Water & ATF

As I plan to do the ATF treatment very soon I desided to do the watercleaning today . I put a gardenhose on the large vacuumtube just below the bac. I made a ballvalve in the hose and put the other end in a bottle of destilled water. I revved to engine to 5000-6000 rpm and openen the valve. The water (about 750ml in portion of 150-200ml) got sucked in the engine and lots of steams emerged from the exhaust. The last time I opened the valve the engine stalled. I removed the hose and put all the tubes back in place. Luckely the car started right away and some more steam came from the exhaust. I took the car out on the highway and drove it hard (it was already warm). About halfway I noticed a difference, a bad difference. The engine wasn't as smooth as it use to be at high rpm. It kind of shaked much more. At low rpm's I don't notice anything. Later on the engine sounded much better and revved better, but I seemed to have lost some serious power. The engine revves better, sounds better, but there is less acceleration.

When I got home I noticed that the engine is iding at about 100-150rpm higher than before.

I'm quite a bit worried that I damaged a seal or something. Gonna try to adjust the idle and TPS tomorrow to see what difference that is gonna make.

I'm also planning on doing the ATF treatment soon to get the really stuck carbon out, so maybe then I get some power back.

What do you guys think on this...

I've checked and adjusted TPS. Adjusted Idle and found out that timing was about 1/10 of an inch (on the pulley) to late. I've never noticed that before, could this be a result of the water treatment?? I've also adjusted timing (and advanded it about 1/10 of an inch). Performanche is back now!!!

I do not notice a power gain. On the other hand, I drove it hard yesterday but gaslevels didn't drop that much. It's been to short to say if gasmilage has aproved but there are chances....

Well...let us know what happens Marco.

PS. I don't see how the water treatment could have changed the timing.

Your timing could have changed because your engine was idling at a higher rpm. Make sure you adjust your timing with the jumper set and try to make it idle at... I think 750??? for a correct timing adjustment.

i agree, it varies just a bit depending on the rpms you set it at and if you have that plug grounded
