warped houseing nightmare

ok so this week i resumed my project, and i got to the dissassembly of my 89 13b, only to find chunks of the rear stat. gear in the rear housing along with a partialy stripped inner rotor gear on num2. the good news is as far as i can tell rotor 1 and housing 1 are ok along with the corrosponding front parts.

this is what i know.

rotor 2, gouged:wallbash:

rear houseing, took a beating from rotor 2:wallbash:

rear stat gear- either the catalyst or the cause, but fucked none the less:sadwavey:

what i dont know

my intermediate plate deffinately has signs of warpage, ware, what ever u wanna call it.

signs of ware from all possiable points, but its not 2 far off from the front side either.

what im conserned with is if i find chunks, and the rear rotor houseing is gashed, is it enough to play it safe and set the project back to buy new rear and intermediate plates as well.

not to mention full gasket set, media blast, and im not shure is any or all of the motor assembley bolts are reuseable, i.e. the 18 long bolts that cost 400 that hold the block 2gether.

i need help, a second, 3ed , 4th opionion b4 i drop 2500 just 2 be safe.

ill post pics soon.:scared:

The irons are very hard. If they aren't scratched or missing chunks then they are probably fine. You will find measurements in the FSM to check for warpage and wear.

If the iron is dented, scratched or worn beyond spec then it can be lapped to flatten it out.

Sounds like most of the engine is trashed though. Might be a case for finding another engine instead of trying to deal with what you have.

a ive talked 2 a few buddies already and it seems the general idea is some of the motor is garbage,

would you happen 2 know the best tool to use to tell if their outta spec, cuz i have the spec sheet i just dont have ne thing to take that accurate of measurements with.

this might be time to go jdm swap, or mabey just turbo??

those are later issuses though.

like i said parts i know are gone 500 will do me good w/o gaskets.

more thinking is in order:Wconfused

You will need a set of feeler gauges, and a straight edge to check the flatness of the irons.
