Warning lights (Not stock)
 

Alrighty, I have boost and water temp on my a pilar.

I want to move the water temp below the radio. I understand the visability there is poor during intense driving.

What I want to do is to make warning lights. One for low oil pressure, high water temp, and maybe high boost. So if the light turns on I would back off and look at the gauge and make a choice on what to do.

How would I go about this. I am using Autometer water temp and oil pres. gauges. These senders are single wire deals. How do they send info to the gauge. Is it a changing resistance?

If it is a changing resitance how could I use that to signal a warning light?

I am starting to agree with you. I just read the artical on the intelligent intercooler spray system they built up.

I found out autometer sells sending units. Rather resonable and might go with those.

Yeah, I just got done reading that artical. What a neat idea. I want that too!

However, notice how the one that comes in the project box makes mention of it will work with any 12V pump. However, the circuit board (bare bones) kit does not make any mention of that?

I also read that negative boost artical. I might have to buy a DWYER MAGNEHELIC thingy:)

It's the same circuit, all that's added is the box and some fancy connectors. I'd get the unboxed version and put it in a much cheaper plastic box.
We use those at work, but I've yet to find a "spare" one with a low enough scale. :)
