warning lights + ignition
i DID a search and seemed to be the only answer was "either the bulbs are out or resolder the CPU"..
when i key on, the warning lights no longer come on.. you just hear 2 clunks in the engine bay.. the lights WORK.. but when the car is keyed on and not running the lights no longer come on.. i thought there might be another cause for this - the car almost stalled on the way to crappy tire when i was getting some oil.. naturally as it nearly stalled (well the revs just dropped low - low enough to make all the warning lights come on). anyways it did not actually stall, and i was in the parking lot of crappy tire at this time. so i parked - shut off the car - went inside - got oil - came back out.. keyed on the car, and there was no warning lights.. i thought WTF.. while i said that.. i heard *knock knock* in the engine bay.. im not sure if that is normal, but i may not have been paying the closest attention because normally the lights are on and everything is beeping. now theres no beeping, no lights. again, i DID do a search, but the ONLY conclusion is that the CPU need a resolder? why would a faulty soldered CPU crap out so instantaneously? curious if there is any other solutions.. i would imagine that a crappy solder would have shown other symptoms before it finally went out.. not so instantaneously.. comments anyone? |
i must have kicked the CPU by accident or something i just keyed the car on and tapped the CPU and the warning lights and beeping came on. so there you have it the symptoms of a bad CPU before it finally craps out. the horn beeps funny, and the warning lights dont always operate on keying on the car. i love answering my own questions. :) could probably chalk it up to me searching and posting before i actually try anything. ;) |
Resolder ecu. Common symptom #47 lol
