Vicious shaking at anything 35mph +
 

Wtf errrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... before it wasn't bad like for the past month it was only slightly noticeable at WOT in third and fourth gear

Now any gear I am at regardless of throttle at 35+ the car feels shakes so hard that I almost feel as if every nut and bolt is going to unseat itself.

I did notice that the rear passenger side is sitting about 1/2" lower then the driver side .. but then again the parking spot i got is on a decline (higher towards the frenchfry .. lower towards the street) ... and I backed in .. so it may be that its lopsided


Is my suspension fuxored ? Or is it a dif mount ? It has nothing to do with the engine im almost 1000 percent sure.

It's probably either a suspension problem, a faulty wheel bearing or an unbalanced wheel. Does the vibration seams to be coming from a particular wheel/strut? But seriously if you cant figure something so simple yourself then your better off seing a mechanic.

if it doesn't do it free revving then omit the engine and accessories from the equation.

jack up the car and run it on jacks and inspect the tires and wheels, i would suspect you have a tire that has a broken cord and is about to explode on you. you can spin the front tires by hand and make sure the wheel bearings and tie rods don't have a bunch of slop by pushing/pulling in the tire horizontally and vertically.

last places to look are at your struts and driveline, if your struts have oil on them then replace them as they are blown, if the driveline has play in it up and down or side to side in the joints then your driveshaft needs to be replaced. checking the halfshafts is a little tricky so start with those as i am pretty sure one of those things is your problem.

its not the wheel .. these are brand new and the tire was just balanced a week ago

uh ok.. i have had brand new tires with broken cords/mismachined/whatever you wanna call it and the car shook like a mofo at 35+ but it was a harmonic vibration, do not assume anything new is perfect.

anyways, i'm putting my money on u-joints in the driveshaft though.

I'll bet 20 on it being your driveshaft. Check those U joints.

My guess is a driveshaft u-joint.

I'm kinda guessing that it's more of a suspension or tire/wheel issue. I broke the tailshaft off of my 84 GSL-SE and it only shook up to about 35mph. Over that it was fine, other than trying to limp it 100 miles back to my house with no trans oil.

You stated that the shaking gets worse over 35. I'd try checking the lugs first to make sure they're tight. (I know this sounds like the "make sure it's plugged in" answer to the "my computer won't turn on" question, but sometimes it really is that simple) If that's not it, try switching the tires around front to back or side to side to pinpoint the problem. The idea is to eliminate all the things that it is not.

lol driveshaft only had two bolts in it .. which i proceeded to pull out with my fingers lol

Did I say suspension or tires? I meant to say check the driveline. Yeah, that's it. OK, I'm wrong on occasion. D'oh!
