Vibration in shifter and clutch pedal
I won't be able to check what my problem with my car is until next Tuesday so for now I would just like some pointers of what exactly to look for. At this point, my best guess is a mis-aligned pressure plate. Here are the symptoms:
Scenario 1- parked, car in neutral, clutch not depressed, rev through the range, smooth as can be. Scenario 2- parked, car in neutral, clutch depressed, rev to ~3.5-4k rpm, feel vibrations in pedal, audible, goes away in a few secs. Scenario 3- driving, any gear, rev to~3.5-4k rpm, feel vibrations in both pedal and knob, audible, goes away in a few secs. sometimes it happens as soon as 3k rpm. Now I know a lot about manual transmissions and what their deal is most of the time, but this one has me stumped. The trans is very good, has zero whine, and shifts very easily. It's just I am scared to rev it past 4k because it starts to vibrate so bad. Anyone have any insight to this problem? |
