Vert window regulator options?
Since our vert regulators are NLA and almost impossible to find replacements, I have been looking for alternatives.
Has anyone tried some of the aftermarket hot-rod pieces like this one? http://www.electric-life.com/shopexd.asp?id=975 Just wondering if anyone has tried to adapt something like this. I was searching around and didn't find anything. Cheers! GM |
Are you sure its your regulator and not switches? I know my switches were bad and i replaced them but still wasnt amazed at how slow they went up. So I took the tracks apart cleaned em out and sprayed them with silicone :D. Not like new but better than most cars.

On the passenger side everything is fine. I've lubed it up to help prevent any issues with it but like you mentioned, the switches are touchy. The passenger side switch started acting up a few days ago. I plan on taking it apart tomorrow to clean it. Cheers! GM |
Usually you can find them on EBay for around $100. However, checking, this is all I could find.

It's been discussed before. Try a search.

Learn to rebuild the regulators.
Replace the top nylon slide with a pulley. Add the relay mod to remove the electrical load from your switches. They will stop burning out. This done and the regulator will last, the window will race up and down, and your switches will last for the foreseeable future. I did this in 2004 and have put 30k miles on my 90 vert. NO more window problems. -jack |
I have rebuilt them. It's not fun but if you do it right and they work well rebuilt.
Great preventative maintenance is to take the door panel off and grease the cable before the regulator goes out. When the window start dragging going up that means there is too much tension on that nylon slide. Do that enough and that weak point is going to break. That weak point is going to break eventually no matter what...but this is a simple way to buy you more time. |
i just checked and the regulators are available
FB67-59-560B (L) and FB67-58-560B (r). they come complete with motors and everything so they are not cheap. i also recommend removing, cleaning and regreasing the regulators, it works on the coupe ones too. |

Where did you find them? According to my local Mazda dealer, my mechanic, and some local parts distributors, they are NLA.
