Vacuum Lines

There's a hissing under my hood and erratic idle under 1,000 RPM. So I suspect it's a vacuum line leak... can anyone show me where the vacuum lines run?

Any help in me changing them to new lines would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Diagrams, etc.

Thanks!

Do you have a Factory Service Manual (FSM)? Check the Fuel and Emissions chapter for the vacuum hose routing diagram. If you don't have the FSM you can download the whole thing or just sections from either www.fc3s.org or www.iluvmyrx7.com for free in .pdf format.

Yeah, I got the FSM... and it really doesn't go into detail about vacuum lines! Well, anyone know how many vacuum lines there are?

Someone else on this forum has some idle problems, too. And he suggested spraying starter fluid to trouble-shoot... I think I'll do that.

I don't know what FSM you've got, but mine covers every single vac line quite clearly.

You should attempt to locate the vac leak before you start randomly replacing vac lines, as there are many things other than the lines that can leak. The two most common ways are spraying carb cleaner (or similar) around the engine while idling and listeing for the revs to change, or getting a length of hose, sticking one end in your ear and probning around with the other end listening for the source of the leak.
