I've never seen a TurboII with vacuum lines on the intercooler. Got a picture of your top mount intercooler?

DRFT_HRD 05-07-11 01:20 PM

Ya give me a bit and ill post em.

Don't bump in technical sections.

The connections you're talking about are for the ASV (air supply valve), which has a nipple nearby on the UIM, and for the AWS solenoid. They're both capped off on my top-mount because neither are functional with my setup.

I was being a smart ass. The answer is there are no vacuum lines on the intercooler but you have two small air supply lines there doing what the 88 above said.

The air supply valve is on the back of the throttle body with a large nipple sticking up in the air and there should be a hose b/t there and the rear nipple on the intercooler.

The nipple sitcking out to the right side of the intercooler goes to the Air Bypass Solenoid Valve bolted to the top of the upper intake just to the right of the intercooler. Page 4B3 of the online FSM shows it.........kinda. Air Bypass Solenoid supplys air to the BAC for the first seventeen seconds upon startup when the engine is cold. There after it does nothing useful at all. Page 4B-5 shows it a bit better.

Hmmm. It's been a while. I removed my air supply valve yrs ago on all my cars and plugged the intercooler.

I'll try to find a picture. I remember one on this forum somewhere. Later.

EDIT: Its the nipple in the jpg attached and that nipple is fed by the valve I pointed a red arrow at. Oops. Got that wrong. The nipple feeds the valve.

The nipple I put an arrow on gets a hose and it connects to the intercoolers rear small nipple. Yes.

I found a fellows turbo engine pictures that might help some. Attached
