vac line?
87' t2
My car will not idle I i go to start it, it just dies. I can give it gas and hold it down itll run but the second I let off the littlest bit it just dies. I was lookin around my engine and found a small tube/line running from the back of the motor located by the firewall. It is about 4-5 inches long and has a green canister in the middle where does this line plug into, does it plug into anything. And what does it do? |
anyone?

this one is plugg to the thermo valve located on the thermowax. It's on a small plastic that is locate on the TB

if it wasnt pluggd in would it cause my car to not be able to idle at all and just die? Im going to check it out tomorrow since its dark now

Also easier to see is the brake booster line.

the secondary throttle plates may not open right if its unplugged or damaged. you can get a new one for fairly cheap from a dealer or maybe an auto parts store.
although my first thought was the vac line for the fuel pressure sensor thing at the front end of the fuel rail... when i dismantled my upper intake manifold i forgot to plug it back up and the car would start and go to 3,000 RPM for the accelerated warm up and then die. |
well after examining my motor i found that the airintak hose where it connects to the turbo is cracked big time . . . so thats probably the cause , can i find this hose at a dealer and whats the Name of this hose?

that's the turbo inlet duct, or TID. I had the same problem when I got my car. yes, you can get it at a dealer, but if you want to save a little money I'd recommend posting a WTB thread in the sale section, many people have leftover TID's from replacing it with a different intake.

ok thanks
