V Mount Intercooler? Icemark, AaronCake, feel free to comment...
My welding machine is warmed up and my cutting wheel is whizzing. I am about to take on the project of making a V-Mount setup with a front mount intercooler on my 88 SE/TII. Has anyone tried this on an FC before? I have heard of it done on FD's but never on an FC. Any comments, tips, suggestions or ideas? Let me know. If it works out good I might make a few kits and set them loose in the fore sale section. Let me know what you guys think...

I know it has been done before on a 88 base... So you know it can be done LoL... I don't know how much trouble it is, etc... but I know it CAN be done hehe

Are the benefits of a v-mount intercooler great enough to waste time and money and work and fabrication on it or should i just throw a FMIC on there and call it a day?

I have built a vmount for my car, My main reason for doing it this way was to be different. Second major reason is cuz I didn't want to upgrade rads. Doing a v mount allows a little more airflow directly to the rad. But in all honesty, I would have been better off doing a FMIC and upgrading the rad. It takes a lot of work to get things spaced right, plus you need a hole in your hood for the air to vent out.

I'm gonna be upgrading the rad anyways...but i just wanna do something different from ordinary...like you said...what kind of reactions have you got from it? does it perform better with the v-mount?
