Update on T2

The car isn't in as good of shape as I thought. Here's whats wrong with it and will you guy please tell me how much the parts should be and possible remedies for some things.

-Small coolant leak source somewhere under the throttle body

-He said "need to check and possibly replace clutch switch (How much is this part and can an normal backyard mechanic fix this?)

-Traces of oil in the coolant. I think this could point to a crack somewhere in the turbo manifold water line. (He has a complete turbo/manifold for $300 from an '89 in excellent cond.)

-A/C doesn't work but this isn't a problem since I don't use it anyway except July and August (I live in south GA so i need it)

So far as recently replaced parts, since it was a project car, heres the list.

K&N filter
downpipe (to reduce the heat from turbo and some additional power)
high flow CAT (just passed GA emission test)

Extensive overhaul which included replacement of (all OEM Mazda parts)

Radiator
Water pump
All major water hoses
Most major vacuum hoses replaced with silicon hose or OEM Mazda preformed hoses
All major seals and gaskets
Belts
Turbo intake hose
Fuel line hoses
Fuel rail updated to 89+ version (eliminates leaking diaphram issue)
Master & slave clutch
Battery: new

The body in in terrific condition except 1 tiny ding in the passenger door and a small spider crack in the front and rear bumper. It has 120K miles and his brother bought it brand new in 1987. It has always been garaged kept. Has the 89-92 tail light upgrade. The current owner has had it since '01 as a project car. Is it worth $4,600 (his asking price)? If not what should I shoot for? Thanks for the help.

I dont think its worth 4,600 maybe like 3grand but thats just my opinion, the coolant leak is prob the 90 degree coolant hose under the tb, but the oil in the coolant could be a big problem if im not mistaken or could be a small problem, wat kinda compression does the car have? Do all the electronics work?

Good luck

I have no clue what compression it has. I haven't driven it yet. I'm assuming whatever it had from the factor. I have a buddy with a N/A FC he's parting out so hopefully I could get any parts I needed off of it. Would you reccomend getting the turbo/manifold from the seller for safe measure or drive it for a while and try to figure it out. I'm pretty sure it is linked back to the turbo somehow.

Here's a pic...

Car looks very clean for sure, but i think i would take it to a near by rotary shop if there is one in your area and have them do a compression test, and see about the manifold that you were talking about and if it is bad then purchase the other turbo/manifold from the guy, post back here and tell me wat you think

Well the car is about 3 hours away, as is the nearest rotary shop. I think I might hold out though. I found a N/A 91 that a rotary shop is restoring and all it needs is an engine so it'll be ready for sale by the end of next week. I'm not a huge fan of turbo anyway. It's nice but the way I see it, it's just one more thing to tear up. Once I get more info on the 91 I'll post here. Thanks guys.
