Unlowered Performance suspension?
 
Is there any company that makes a performance suspension kit for the FC that doesn't lower the car? I am talking springs and struts, or coilovers, whichever. The reason I ask is because I stretched the legs on the T2 the other night and it performed great, all the way up to 130mph. But the struts are shot, and why replace them with stock. I don't want to lower the car because the roads in NH are shit and I don't feel like bottoming out the car.

It seems like every company I have found only has kits that drop. I know I could have someone like Tein build a custom setup, but custom means big $, and I don't feel like putting myself in debt.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I was in the same boat as you a few months ago with the old shocks and springs.
I took off my stock suspension and installed my KYB AGX/Eibach combo. When I was all done, my car didn't sit any lower at all. My stock stuff (100Kmiles) was sagging so much that my car may have even gained a half an inch or so.

It may not have looked any different, but it sure cornered better with the new stuff. :)

Coilovers of course.

You can set the height lower or higher - anywhere you want.

I'd go with some Koni Sports or Tokico Illumina 5-way adjustable struts. If you're on a budget, the KYB AGX mentioned above should be very good for your needs. Don't waste your money on a full coilover set...it doesn't sound like you need it.

I agree, if you look at most of the specs for a lot of coilover kits they give you a range of how far you can adjust the suspension and I have seen some that will let you increase the ride height as well as lower it.

Thanks for the input guys, I will look into the options you have provided. I think that the KYB setup is the way I would lean towards. If I were using this car for only track use I wouldn't hesitate to go with the coilovers, but I think they would be a little overkill for a DD streetracer.

For non-coilover options I've seen nothing that doesn't lower the car at least an inch. I'd suggest maybe try some springs, and if you think they're too low, then one thing that you can do is to make some spring spacers to get the extra height back. Another option would be ground control coilover sleeves. They fit over stock type shocks, are height adjustable and can be had with a number of different spring rates. You could get them with reasonably low spring rates for comfort and run them at stock ride height for ground clearance and so on. They are more expensive, and are probably overkill for your intended use though.

I've read many good things about the KYB AGX, very good value for money.

My cheapskate option:
Get the cheap($40) set of honda coilover sleeves. Toss the honda springs. Use some good Eibach springs with the honda height adjusters.

Well, I just checked out KYB's product lists and I think the GR-2 series is the way I am going to go. I would like to get the AGXs but the price is a bit higher than I want to spend.

Has anyone ever run the GR-2s? Just wondering how they compare to stock.

I have GR-2's on my maxima...they were definetely a noticable difference from the blown struts....but really nothing that spectacular.

GR-2's are just stocklike replacement, alot of guys that use them regret NOT paying the extra cash.

I'de recommend new TII springs, it won't lower the car a bit (might raise it actually :)).
