Universal side mount seat brackets on stock rails, will it work for new seats?

I am looking into buying some new seats, fixed buckets that are side mounted. The seats are already a chunk of change and I don't want to pay extra for new sliders and specific brackets + side mounts.

So I am curious if say a universal side mount like so: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-SIDE-MOUNT-STEEL-SEAT-BRACKETS-FOR-RACING-SEATS-90-DEGREE-ADJUSTABLE-C-/190814712226?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6d7171a2&vxp=mtr
could be bolted on to the stock fc sliders, and then of course the seats would bolt into the side portions. I know the passenger seat is funky, and I would just use washers there to level it out even if it is a bit higher than the driver side. I am only 5'6 so I am not too concerned about about height problems.

So anyone that has installed side mounts seats try using these universal side mounts and just possibly re drilling the bottom to bolt them onto the stock slider brackets?

It can work for the drivers side, as long as the seat isn't too wide or narrow, of course.

It wil not work on the passenger seat. Just take a look at it and you will see the rail is at an angle and on the trans tunnel. Any aftermarket mount I've seen has involved a new rail mount. Just unbolt the seat to get an idea of what the floor looks like there.

Yeah I've installed after market seats about 5 years ago on my old one, But I was thinking I could still use these and just level them out with washers on teh passenger side.

The height difference between the inside and outside of the passenger rails is more than a few washers thick.

Since height is not an issue and it's relatively simple, I'd try your approach on the driver side but solid mount the passenger side.

Hmm I do remember when I installed seats on my old FC all I remember is we redrilled holes and then leveled it out with spacers or washers, but that was just a bottom mount seat and not a bucket.
