Twin Turbo on GEN 2
Hello,
I was simply wondering if a Generation Three sequential TWIN TURBO is adaptable to the GEN 2 13b It is an N/A 1988 with stock intercooler and K&N Cold Air Intake! Catback! and i need more out of my Turbo and i was wondering if it was in any way possible to put the tt from a gen 3 to a gen 2! Without excesive aleterations! -------------------------------- 1988 Turbo II 5 speed K&N cold air intake Greddy Catback looking into Mariah mode six body package! wanting to run low 13's! currently running low 14's |
to put a FD motor into a FC you will need to do alot of things i can be done but you better have some $$ look at the feature car for this month the one at the top of the page he put a FD motor into a FC

the turbos do not bolt on the FC motor. It hits the lower intake manifold. Much better off with a single turbo anyway.

Well I am simply wondering if it wasn't stock twin turbo's from a gen II!
But twin turbo's would the rotary push two full turbos? I mean what kind of extra power would you get i have currently a T04 Turbo!!! and i want more MORE MORE!!! accually my aim is low 12's! and i want to know the best way to do it! any suggestions? |
I don't understand your post...
You claim to have a turbo'd NA, but your .sig says "Turbo II"?  If you do have a turbo'd NA 13B, that does not make it a "Turbo II" model. I don't recommend running that kinda power on an NA block.  The higher compression makes for a smaller safety margin against detonation, and by the looks of your postings, you also have no clue what you're getting yourself into.  Now, let me say this - I did not say it was impossible to do.  I would switch over to a stand-alone EMS unit to control every aspects of ignition fuel - this would get you what you want. I don't know what your love of twins over a properly sized single.  Single turbo 13B's have been known to produce up to 700hp on a 13B.  A properly sized single turbo is less headache to install due to less plumbing.  If you're thinking you can run X model of turbocharger is getting Y amount of horsepower, then expect 2X turbos will produce 2Y amount of power, you're seriously wrong.  Turbo sizing is the key to making efficient power out of the engine.  You can't just be slapping any turbo you want and expect it to you for for you.  There are people who run too BIG of a turbo, and get all pissy about it.  Check out the Single Turbo section of this forum... -Ted |

There are some companies that sell the twin turbo setup that bolts on, but you'd need a Haltech or simlar and good tuning to make it run right.
The 93-95 13B-re cosmo twin turbo engine is a popular transplant as it's not too expensive and obviously has twin turbos. Finally if you don't want MAXIMUM power but ~250-300hp is your goal you might consider going supercharged. Same benifits as the twin turbo setup with better throttle responce. |
