Look through the forum for N/A to turbo conversions.

Then forget about it. It's not worth your time or your money. In a nutshell, it won't work.

that turbo setup is to mount onto a turbo engine. I doubt it would clear your N/A intake manifold.

thanx for a usable response that is understandable
i alwasy get flammed instead of getting answers

BLUE TII 12-18-01 11:27 PM

Well I've had NA and TII and I do think he is right. Get the TII first, then get turbo upgrades...;)
Advice contradictory to what you want to hear isn't always a flame, just a though.

Scott 89t2 12-18-01 11:36 PM

well a stock turbo and manifold won't clear the N/A intake manifold. so I wouldn't think you could fit 2 in there.... unless the exhaust manifold was build to fit around the N/A intake. but I doubt it was.

BLUE TII 12-18-01 11:45 PM

I saw a stainless mani for twin to4s for the 2nd gen that had them very low and front and back. Probably would have cleared intake, but imagine what other problems it would pose in an NA. Thats why I said what I did. It can be made to fit-can an NA run twins then? I didn't want to open that can of worms.:(

takerwolf 12-19-01 12:07 AM

Where did you see it at?

BLUE TII 12-19-01 12:13 AM

Mabye I'll tell you, but first-do you have NA or TII. J/K, I saw it on partstrader many months ago. It was from Asia, but anyone who makes stainless manis could make such a thing.

Scott 89t2 12-19-01 12:18 AM

there is guy in my city selling a twin turbo setup right now. it's probably the one crossbar saw. I think it's on ebay right now

takerwolf 12-19-01 12:29 AM

It's a TII, so all it is is the manifold? How much is it?

Scott 89t2 12-19-01 12:39 AM

here, manifold and 2 turbos, and external wastegate. need a IC and lots of fuel :)

I don't know him, haven't seen it, yada yada. leagal stuff..

Ryde _Or_Die 12-19-01 02:26 AM

I just don't see the point in twin turboing a car. Everyone that really upgrades TTs always goes for a single large turbo. Why not just go for that? But hey if it fits, so be it. Whatever floats ur boat :D

Dyre 12-19-01 04:19 AM

People ussally go single becuase its cheaper, and for drag racing its not that big of a deal to have the power come on all of a sudden after massive turbo lag.

With a road race, auto-x, or any other car that doesnt only go in a staright line huge hp and huge boost requires some way to keep the lag down....

Ryde _Or_Die 12-20-01 01:04 AM

Thats true but if you get a To4e it should spool pretty quick right? This TTing a TII just seems like a lot of work.

Node 12-20-01 01:44 AM

id think too many problems/money involved w/ turboing a N/A to make it not worth it to just buy a T2. But whatever floats your boat. And why not a fast spooling single turbo. The Apexi RX6 spools as fast as the FD's stock sequential twins and can make 400-450hp
Anyways ill run along now

takerwolf 12-20-01 02:06 AM

A twin turbo setup with the same airflow and boost should spool faster because rotational interia depends on how far from the center the weight is and the closer to center the easier to spin for the same amount of weight. So, 2 shorter compressor wheels should be easier to spin than one large one. Also, you would get more air flow I think and that is just as good as more boost (I'm not sure on this part),
