twin stock intercooler setup...parrallel?

I think i might be able to get my hands on a 2nd stock intercooler (not sure if its s4 or s5 or if theres a difference), but i was wondering if anyone has ever mounted parrallel twin stock frontmount intercoolers. Clearly, there would have to be a lot of fabricated plumbing, but im doing an engine swap into an opel gt, so i figured why not? twice the air flow has never been a bad thing, of course provided you have the fuel to keep up. but regardless, i plan on having a v-mount with the stock radiator up top and one or 2 stock intercoolers on the bottom. Just looking for some feedback on this idea. (and that t-II rear end is still for sale)

Just because two intercoolers would be used doesn't mean twice the airflow would be achieved. Why don't you just invest in an aftermarket IC or an isuzu Npr or a starion FMIC be used? They are farely inexpensive. Or maybe even an ebay core? Find the guy with the handle JRPRP1 on ebay, he has really nice cores.

only if they were put paralell in which case it would block too much airflow to the radiator.

just invest in a conventional front mount. :p:

If you are doing the welding and absolutely don't want to spend money, yes I think it might work, I guess you mean a "Y" to both side by side then another on the other side.

In reality the best thing to do there if you don't want to spend $ is to get the TIG or MIG to weld aluminum and cut the endtanks and weld them together...there u go.

EDIT: BTW S4 and S5 IC's are a little different

Starion FMIC sucks ass. NPR is fine imho, consider just one TII IC front mounted. I'm sure it'll do the job.

Or just by a Spearco off eBay for $300-$400 and get custom piping + accessores for $150 or less.

Or step into the badass boy league and get a Greddy ;). Tested and proven to be efficient.

Youre right, Mx6-Rx7 addict, there wouldnt be exactly 200% of the stock airflow, but itd have the capability to probably reach 185% of the stock airflow. How are they different? in size, flow, what, and yes i was planning on doing a v mount, with the intercoolers in a y shape on the bottom to funnle air into them. And yeah, lag would be a biiig problem with all the extra plumbing, but i dont have the parts yet, so its all just speculative for now...
