Turn Signal Question
Hi guys,
Sorry to start a new thread but my issue was different from what was on an older thread. My turn signal switch does a normal click to the right. Green arrow flashes, amber lights in the front and rear also blink indicating that I want to turn. When I turn the switch to the left it starts clicking really fast. No lights blink in the front and rear and nothing on the cluster. I have replaced the light bulbs and still nothing. When I press the hazards only the right (passenger side) flickers. Do you guys have any idea why? |
Did you attempt any of the advice in post #12?

I'll give that a try. Last time I checked I disconnected a plug there to turn off the factory alarm (it kept going off in the middle of the night for no reason)
on your original post you stated jumper over 12volts. Can you explain how? I just want to make sure i do this correctly. I don't want to burn out anything |
Jumper means to take voltage in this instance from one source and place it to another area that doesn't have voltage. Basically, you're taking a wire bare on both ends and using the wire to bridge two different points (one having voltage to the one not having voltage).

At the flasher board on the CPU there will be a black wire that has ground on it at all times. If it does not, there is a disconnected ground at the top of the dash on the drivers side. Also at the flasher board plug there will be a Black/Blue wire. This should have 12volts+ on it at all times. If if does not: you have a bad fuse. If it does: jumper over 12volts to the Green/red (in the same plug going to the flasher board). When you do this the Left side lights should flash and the Green/Black coming out of the flasher plug should have a flashing 12volts on it. If the green/black does not then the flasher CPU is bad. Next put 12volts onto the Green/Yellow. Now the Green/white should have flashing 12volts coming out of the flasher CPU. Again if it does not you have a bad flasher CPU. if there is both flashing voltage on the Grn/Blk and Grn/White when the Grn/Red and Grn/Yel have voltage, but the lights still do not work, the flasher CPU is good, but the lights themselves are either burnt out or the wiring to them is disconnected. |
The plug itself.

Okay cool I will give it a try this weekend. I did change out the turn signal fuse and the problem is still there.
I was looking at the CPU and wires last night and I did come across something strange. When the lights are off if I step on the brake the cluster and air control unit lights turn on. I did change out my coupe dash with a dash from a vert. I did keep the original wiring from the coupe dash and put it on the vert dash. There was a ground that I did bolt down around the driver side. Would this be the issue regarding the turn signal and the lights going off when I step on the brake? |
If one side of the turn signals work then the fuse would not be an issue. The fuse powers the wire in info contained within the original thread in which you posted in.
If one side of the turn signals work then likely no. W/respect to the other problem, possibly. |
So I swapped in anew CPU and bingo! the left turn signal is now working. Same applies to the hazards. One thing I am coming across is that the green bulbs on the cluster are not flashing anymore.
Also, I changed the location of that ground for the dash harness. I am still having the same issue when I press on the brake the cluster and logicon illuminate. Any ideas? |
Same here left side failed , replaced the CPU flasher and works.
Available from Atkins for flash board |
i re-soldered mine.
