Turn on the heat and GURGLE GURGLE GURGLE

Subject says it all.

I don't appear to have a coolant leak and my cooling sys is otherwise performing perfectly.

But when I slide the heat all the way up and drive around at about 2800-3000 revs I can hear coolant gurgling away and it is making me NUTS!

Any suggestions on nixing this annoyance?

Perhaps the modified Coolant Flush you speak so highly of?:D

Be prepared to make a coffee and have a looong wait.:) X-amount of bullshit that flies In that thread.

But seriously, how Is your Heaters output? Any difference? Perhaps your Heater core Is clogged.

Lots of heat - it's normal.

I'm hoping that it's not the core - I don't want to wind up having to yank the dash (I hear it's a nightmare.)

Okay, good to know. I suggested that b'c that would be the nearest "cooling" component you would hear, as for when you are In the cabin.

My new theory.

Maybe the heater core has a hole in it. So when the coolant is flowing through at a good pace the core sucks air and causes turbulence, which I hear as the gurgle.

I'm strongly suspecting this as I've been noticing that hated coolant smell inside the car recently.

I'd rather not use stop-leak. I don't want to fill up the sys with goop.

Any comments on using stop-leak to at least buy some time?
