Turbo oil feed banjo question

Okay guys, I've searched and searched and come up with different answers. I need to know for sure what thread the banjo bolt is for the oil feed line on Turbo II's. I've seen M12x1.5, M14x1.5, and M16x1.5 so I need to know which one it is so I can order one

M12x1.5

is this 100% confirmed? I just don't want to waste time getting the wrong stuff. Got any recommendations on where to get them? Seems like all I find in that thread pitch is from wholesalers. Otherwise I can find M10 no problem

FSM'll tell ya ;)

I'll put it to you this way. This fitting will screw right in:

maybe this will work? http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant..._Code=ATP-OIL2 I had the OEM bolt on stock turbo...

works for me. On the same topic, what can I do about the fitting in the front cover for the oil cooler line? I think I'm gonna have a hell of a time trying to get one

TrboSpdAnt 09-23-10 09:52 PM

Unless you post something in the FS/FT/WTT section...

Who knows, SOMEONE might have one ;)

You looking for the S4 of S5 Tii cover or just the oil cooler fitting? I think I have a brand new S5 NA cover (complete with cooler fitting and new mainseal,) someplace.

FirebirdSlayer666 09-24-10 10:24 AM

I made a thread already. It got moved to the parts wanted section. This is all for an S4 Turbo II so if it's the same for an S5 na then I'll take just the fitting

TrboSpdAnt 09-24-10 10:44 AM

Thread Link for the fitting?

FirebirdSlayer666 09-24-10 12:58 PM

I'm on my phone so I can't link. If the oil cooler fitting is the same between years and models, I will definitely take the fitting off your hands if you have it.

12X1.5mm is correct. the FD uses a slightly larger banjo bolt which is 14X1.5. who said it was 16X1.5? lol, that's huge.. i believe that is the fron't cover oil cooler line fitting size.

TrboSpdAnt 09-24-10 01:50 PM

The fitting that is threaded into the front timing cover (which supplies the oil cooler) is a 21mm. As far as the spec, The FSM doesn't say about what the pitch/ thread are. Both the NA and turbo are the same; Series not-with-standing. (My NA S4 has the same fitting as the S5 NA and Turbo): 21mm

RotaryEvolution 09-24-10 02:24 PM

the head(wrench size) on the oil cooler fitting off the front cover is 21mm, the thread size/pitch is 16X1.5mm.

And there we have it! Thanks, man.

Like I said, once I get my current cover off, I'll get that fucker out and let you know.

Un/f only 2 of the 3 covers I've got has it, so it's a ass-packing to wait until I get the one I'm using OFF, to have it avail to transplant.

FirebirdSlayer666 09-24-10 05:23 PM

maybe somebody got confused about it when they posted. I found it when I searched so that's why I figured I would ask. Definitely let me know as soon as you can on that fitting cause as it sits, that's the last thing I need so I can start my motor.

TrboSpdAnt 09-24-10 07:51 PM

Hehehehe. Just put the new S5 Tii timing cover on!

PM me about the part, offered cost, zip, blahblahblah.
