Turbo Noob. Need some help.

I have a turbo timer from greddy, and its an s5 turbo. I know they get hot and red sometimes but just a bit ago i took it upto about 110 mph at 13-14 psi. The turbo when i parked it was glowing super red. What can i do to keep the turbo in good shape other than keep the car running till the turbo cools down and isn't red anymore. Also the rear end knocks hard and the front diff mount seems to have a break in it, i cant really tell. Is that most likely why if im not soft with the clutch or the turbo kicks in to hard it rear in feels like its knocking into the body undercarage behind me?

Thanks guys! Glad to be a FC`er now from a FB for 8 years.

Turn down Your Boost

Make sure the all the turbo oild lines are not clogged or anything like that , lots of oil to cool the turbo and set ur turbo timer like 2 or 3min.

87 Turbo II - 17 PSI - s5 turbo
Greddy Timer, Blow Off, Greddy Indash Turbo control
RB Stage 3 Racing Clutch
RB 3" downpipe / 3" straight pipe to muffler.
Rebuilt Motor with all FD Parts + 1991 round TII brake lights
348 RWHP at 14 PSI

How the hell did you get 348 RWHP with a S5 turbo ? Seriously I don't see how that's possible. What kinda dyno did those numbers come off of ?

Search.

Everything you've asked has already been answered somewhere in the 7 years of history on this site.

I doubt fixing a vacuum line fixed your issue with your broken subframe mount...

The clunking in your rear end is a broken subframe mount. Normally most people will put Mazda competition mounts in because they don't break as often as the stock mounts.

As for your turbo getting red, it does that. Your pushing air thats somewhere between 700F-1100F through it. It's going to get a little warm. Invest in a turbo timer or keep your car running for a minute or two when you get to your destination. If you don't, you run the risk of frying the turbo and your motor.

Since your probably not gonna search and just ask, heres the link to the comp mount.

It's a hybrid of some kind, so hopefully whoever built it also upgraded the journal bearing so it'll last under those kind of boost levels. 14-17psi would be too much to ask on stock bearings.
