Turbo II won't start.
 

okay. everything in my car is now in place. i'm getting spark, i'm injecting fuel, i have compression, and i have no vacuum leaks, but yet the 88 rx-7 refuses to start. I have checked my fuses & wiring and the fuses are fine and from my knowledge, the wiring is correct. my ecu is fairly new as well. my crank angle sensor seems fine as well. anybody know what could be causing this?

Also...

Ignition timing - check the timing marks on the pulley with a timing gun.
The marks should be *close*.
As long as you're getting spark, you should be able to shoot for spark.

What if the spark I am getting is a red/orange looking spark? I was told I need a blue spark to make sufficient combustion - which I am not getting that.

As well as this, I didn't take this is into consideration... I may have accidently swapped my trailing coil wires with my leading ones. One pair is blue & the other is black. Which is which? or does that not even matter?

The trailing coils are the ones right behind the strut tower on the drivers side. T1 goes to the front rotor, T2 goes to the rear rotor. The leading coils are by the battery. These go on the bottom sparkplugs. And again, L1 goes to front, L2 goes to rear. You can find the numbers on the actual coils beneith the sparkplug wire. Tt's pretty easy to find. Just examine your coils and you'll find the numbers.

Think of it this way:
L=Lower
T=Top
1=Front
2=Rear

I actually think I may be using the pair of wires that were used with the trailing coils with the leading coils now. I recently pulled my engine for repair and dropped it back in. I forgot which pair of wires I was using. I heard (not sure if this is true) that for example the blue pair is to be used with trailing or leading and the black with the opposite.

you can switch the wires between any of them, but as long as the coils are going to the correct sparkplug it doesn't matter. it may be a bit harder to get the wires to reach, but other than that they should still work.
