Turbo II removal.
I've given up searching Google and the forum search options .
Why: Pre-fix of turbo means I'm searching for EVERYTHING.... Can someone link me or tell me out-rite the best way to remove my Stock Turbo off my S5 block. I'll be removing the Upper intake manifold, and the tires to the tie rods, if that frees and more options. My Guess: 1.Drain Coolant/Oil 2.Remove down pipe / Intake elbows 3.Remove Lines off block from turbo 4.Remove bottom bolts off the Manifold on the block from underneath 5.Remove bolts off the top of the Manifold, and go up and out *removing anything blocking upward route* Total time 4+hours? |
Lol, I used block instead of housing... So sorry, the manual sure doesn't help me *FSM* There must be a better tool or a good write up on this after so many years, but it alludes me.

That sounds complicated
Heres how I did it From the top unbolt the coolant, oil feed and return to the turbo. Then unbolt the wastegate. From underneath the car unbolt turbo from the exhaust manifold, with the wastegate unbolted you should be able to jiggle the turbo down past and out the back of the cross member Have a couple rags on hand to stop coolant and oil spillage. Btw this was on a RHD car, which means I had to clear the steering column as well, and this only took an hour. |
Lol, Tones (Canada / Australia ) I have a RHD as well, so I think you made my day.
I'll write this down on a piece of paper and go smile away with this knowledge. That sounds much simpler. I did have a freeking: Ausrotary account.... |
