turbo with high compression rotors
How much boost could I put on my engine (reliably) when it has high compression rotors(9.4-1)? This is a streetported 13b 4 port. Im currently running a weber 48mm sidedraft carb. Also, can I boost through this carb or should I go with something else? Thanks for all the help. Just want to go faster.

well, you might have to put the carb before the turbo, or visa versa. but it would be better to put the carb first, then the turbo, then the intake manifold.

I have the same rotors in my TII setup.
I was not able to run more than 12 psi without water injection. Actually, it started pinging at 12 psi so 10 lbs. is about it safely with a small room for error. That was only on 91 octane as that is all we can get out here (readily) in CA. Do a search, this has been covered extensively, even a few threads from the last few days about the same topic. It is better to go with fuel injection instead of a carb with a turbo. I imagine you could boost through that carb but I am no expert when it comes to webers. If you want to talk about carbs on bb chevys, then I can talk all day. |
Thanks. I tried to search but I never seem to find what Im looking for. Ill try again.
