Tuning the stock ECU chip?
Can the stock ecu be tuned WITHOUT a chip being installed?
Because I have an S4 T2 ecu that has "tuned 1.0 bar" written on the cover. I took the cover off to see if I could see who tuned it or what had been done to it. But the chips all look the same as a ecu that I KNOW is stock. |
you can install a piggyback system which tricks the ECU, but you cannot change the stock maps without a system like the Rtek
|
you can program the eprom chip :D
the cab that i have had a knightsport chip in it - i contacted them and the boost had been upped and a few other stuff pity the ecu had been sat in water and never worked :( i contacted them direct with the the details off a sticker on the cover - and they confirmed it - so it wasnt a cheapo ebay chip so yeah you can tune a stock ECU if you have the tools - problem is - i dont think anybody has these days and its just as easy to get a piggy back or stand alone hope this helps ta stu |

Great for the money. Lots of guys use them that post on the forums. |
I know you can install a chip after but, the when I got my car this ecu was in it and things didn't run right. i since have gotten a ecu that I KNOW is stock and things are better. (Which I am waiting for my Rtek chip)
I was wanting to know what had been done to it. I can't find any brand names or anyhitng anywhere on it. The N333 sticker has been x-ed through. I'll get a picture of it up tomorrow. Maybe that'll help.... |
i have pics of the sticker on mine - but the other PC isnt turned on - so cant post them :(
but it said Knightsports and had a code on it - just emailed them the code - and they told me the spec of the chip thats what i reckon is floating around ebay - someone prob copied it with a chip copier ( my mate can do this ) and then flog them on |
