Tuning fuel question
 

Well, on my car I had it tuned down to -10% through all RPM's. But put it back to -5% because I was worried I might be hurting power more then helping. BUt I am unsure.

I have an A/F gauge to give me a general idea of where I am. I know it isn't as good as having a dyno or a wideband, but I can't afford either right now. I would just like to get the A/F to show between lean and rich. But watching the A/F as i get on the highway, it is rich all the way up to 3800 and then it shoots down to the red area, last two bars, and then slowly climbs back up to 1 bar too rich.

Any ideas? Should I be leaning out lower RPM and then putting more fuel at 3800? And leaning from there?

you may get flamed for trying to tune with a 0-1v O2 sensor. They are useless for tuning, all they will tell you is if you are above or below afr of 14.7. get a wideband

I am looking into an EGT.... I have heard that they are better then a wideband?

I like the one that is in the group buy from pineapple racing. one for each rotor. ;)

leave it be. dont do foolish things. but if you insist, i would have max lean 5% with max rich 5%. lean out the lower rpm band and gradually richen it to about 5% at redline.

also the main reason why narrowbands are useless for tuning is because they are tuned to around stoich, so whnever it gos a tad bit rich or lean, it just craps out and gives a full reading. its pretty bad imho, a tech edge unit is a cheap solution.

no. a egt is a tool to find a correct tune, used in conjunction with an wideband, it will help you achieve your desired goal. if you want, go get one dyno run, and get a nice starting point to work with. or do whatever you want, i dont care. lol.
