Trying to quiet my exhaust...
So I have a 1989 RX7 Turbo II with 3" downpipe, cat delete pipe leading to HKS Hi-Power Silent exhaust. Now let me tell you the HKS exhaust did quiet it down a lot from what it was. Doesn't sound like a jet plane anymore, but when I accelerate hard or come to a big hill and have to give it more gas then the exhaust is still a little too loud.
I am a tuner, not a ricer. I don't want to sound like one. Any help please. |
mmm maybe a presilencer welded in where your cat used to be.
|
can you add another silencer/resignator?
|
a lot of people swear by the Borla XR-1 has a presilencer
|
if you have the money racingbeat has a presilencer that works great. alot of guys like it and it makes the car have a very nice clean sound...that does not hurt your ears on hard acceleration

I had a Greddy PE hooked up to a stock dp and gutted cat, it wasn't the greatest for performance, but it sounded awesome, when I went to a 3" dp and test pipe, it sounded .... less awesome. I had the Test pipe cut and a 3" Borla XR-1 welded in and it went back to well....you know. It's pretty tough too, got ran off the road by a Ford explorer and the Greddy was dinged up but the XR-1 was still quite usable and I kept it w/ my RB catback. Sounds almost stock at idle, no drone on the highway, and opens up when you step on it. |
Well I have the presilencer from my HKS exhaust, but do I really need another?

Looking to get a presilencer for where my cat delete pipe is. Anyone know where I can get one.
