Transmission won't go into gear while clutch is disengaged
 

My car won't shift into gear when my engine is running and once i get the car running in gear it's impossible (or nearly) to shift into another gear without grinding the shit out of it.
1Revvin7 and I replaced the Slave and Master cyl's--as i had replacements sitting in my trunk. we got the clutch pedal play set right and started the car up thinking we were good to go but once i pressed the clutch it felt hard as hell to push down. and once it was pushed all the way down and Revvin saw the actuator move ontop of the tranny it still wouldn't go into gear. Any ideas?

I had the exact same problem. It could go into gear when the car was off, but when you turned it on impossible without grinding gears. Turned out my pilot bearing self destructed :[

How old is the pressure plate? And the tranny front cover (fork arm pivot "ball", specifically)?

Sometimes a bad/ disentigrated pilot bearing will do this too...

i had this problem also, in my case it turned out to be one of the springs in the center of the clutch disk xploded, and it damaged the other springs so it wouldnt disengage. could aslo be the throw out bearing posibly ?

either way it sounds like ur gonna have to drop the trany!!!! good luck post up wat u find.

Pilot bearing or other internal failure. Could also be a busted disc or PP, or a bent/broken fork or pivot. Regardless, the trans has to come off for any of these failures.

IF youre sure youre getting full travel from your hydraulics and youre not losing pressure, then it must be internal.

Yep this i assumed since 1Revvin7 and i replaced the clutch hydraulics with new parts and that didn't solve a darn thing, oh well i guess i'll find out what is wrong with her on friday when i get time to drop the tranny. i'll let everybody know what i find.
