Transmission Fluid
What do you use? I have heard two recommendations: Amsoil and Redline MT-90.
I have an N/A s4 too, keep in mind, so make sure you specify what type of car you have. What weightage do you use? The FSM for my car says All Season is - 80W90. Cheers, Cody |
Redline MT90, Amsoil MTG, and RoyalPurple Maxgear, all 75w90, are 3 excellent fluids that can be found or ordered easily.

I use Redline MT-90. Great stuff. Tried Royal Purple before, didn't really notice much of a difference over MT-90. The MT-90 seemed a bit smoother to shift... probably all in my head. Just get the one easiest to find. :)

mt90 is the jam. I use lw shock proof in the rear.

How do you change your transmission oil?? help me out here. =)

unbolt the fill and drain bolts.
In that order. Then drain bolt back in Fill it up Then fill bolt back in. ----------------------------------------- So with a rearend oil. If you use a Redline/Royal purple. Do you need to add the LSD "additive" that they sell at auto stores? |

Step 2: Read it. Step 3:.... Just as a tip though, I found that having a couple feet of vinyl tubing works pretty well to fill it, just slide it down behing the engine and plug the bottom into the tranny, it will hold about 2.5 quarts, set a bucket or something underneath the fill plug (I found that tuperware works well cause it makes a louder noise when tranny fluid starts to flow out) and thats pretty much that. Easy stuff. |
^^^ LOL! I like step 3 the best...
