Transmission Drain plug replacement?

Where can i find it? I've searched everywhere!

It's on an s5 turbo model, but it isn't the one that's on the bottom of the transmission. It's the one near the back of the transmission near the mount.

Apparently the genius that owned the car before me decided it would be fun to fill it in with some sort of goop to hold the fluid in rather than to search for the actual plug. Maybe he was in my situation. Who knows.

Anyways it's the one that has a square base rather than a hexagonal shape.

I have a spare tranny but I can't get it off. I feel like im going to strip it with vice-grips and/or a crescent wrench.

So in short, i'm looking for the tool to take it off the spare tranny, or a link to buy a spare plug (which i need anyways) from some source.

Thanks in advance.

No it's actually the drain plug. Well according to Aaron Cake's Walk thru on it.

Just scroll down a bit and you'll see an arrow to what i'm talking about. That is a bastard of a plug.

Also if anyone happens to know the size of the thread I can just replace it with a pipe plug

PM Malloy Mazda (that's the username). That's a vendor (dealership) that sells OEM parts and has knowledge.

It's not pipe thread, it's a metric straight thread. I don't know the pitch offhand but it looks like it might be M18 (like an O2 sensor). Any fastener store will have a short bolt you can use with a crush washer. You just need to find the thread first. :)

Use a plumber's pipe wrench, aka a monkey wrench.

Almost stripped the shit outta it. So i stopped

m18 looked way to big. So I got a m14 instead. I'll post results tomorrow

At this point i belive it's an m16 but ill have to check into that.

m14 was too small and m18 was slightly too big

I had the same problem getting my filler plug off.I had to heat the case around the plug with my torch then it came loose with a pipe wrench ,with a pipe cheater.
