75W-90 IIRC, or whatever the FSM (check the FAQ) or owner's manual says. Sulphur free (no egg smell) GL-4 in the tranny and GL-5 in the differential, or even GL-4. GL-5 might be tougher stuff but the sulphur in most GL-5s makes the transmission synchros wear out twice as fast.

Any kind will do but if you want something high quality then try Mobil 1. For racing use there's also Redline, Royal Purple and I think AMS, all for faster shifts. But I hear it's not good to engage that fast on a daily driver, I dunno though. They usually sell "gear oil" for the differential which isn't always synchro safe and another oil for the tranny. Some use the same oil for both.

i put redline's lightweight shock proof in my trans and i couldn't be happier. and this is a daily driver. it smoothed out some roughness i had in the mornings when the outside temps were low.

Mobil 1 is GL-5, which will eat the transmission synchros.

Also, there is evidence that Mobil 1 now uses Group III base stock (with a little bit of PAOs mixed in), which would make it one of the lower quality synthetic oils on the market. When directly asked about this, Mobil avoids answering the question, which causes me to believe the Group III rumors.

Personally, I like Red Line MT-90 in the manual transmission and Red Line 75W90 in the differential. Most other synthetic oils will also work well, but Red Line contains more of the (better in my opinion) Group-V ester base stock, yet it costs about the same or less than many of the oils that mostly use the Group IV PAO base stock or the inferior Group III base stock.

You can order on the internet from places like Jeg's, Summit Racing, Racer Parts Wholesale, etc.

I run Redline in my TII..excellent stuff in my opinion.
My N/A however is just Storebrand(Canadian Tire) 75w-90 extreme pressure gear oil..works good for being a cheap oil.

I just picked up some MT-90 for the transmission and heavy shockproof for the rear diff.
