10W30 is for the engine
where is the owners manual ? Put MTL 90 pr 75W90 gear oil |
Guys,
In addition to the '87 TII, I have a '96 Grand Cherokee and a '94 Honda Civic EX Coupe. The Honda uses the SAME oil in the gearbox (5 speed) as in the engine 10w30 motor oil. Weird but true. Todd |
What are you rebuilding? If it's a 7, I just looked in my shop manual this weekend when I filled mine and it called for an 80W. I used 75-90W Mobil1. Some boxes do use light weight engine oil. My friends turbo Omni runs 0-30W with great results.
